Wedding Venue Architects for barns, country houses and estates

Most wedding venues in Yorkshire are made from buildings designed for something else: a farm barn, a country house, a coach house or a walled garden. As wedding venue architects, we help owners turn those buildings into spaces that work for ceremonies, dinners and guests staying overnight.

Our most recent venue project is Burtonfields Hall near York, a nineteenth century country house that the family run for exclusive use weddings, with nine bedrooms. We have also converted listed barns, a cow byre and a shoot lodge in the North York Moors, and added guest rooms around a courtyard at the Carpenters Arms in Felixkirk.

Planning is usually the deciding factor. A venue in the countryside brings traffic, parking, music late at night and outdoor lighting, and old barns often hold bats and barn owls. We deal with these from the first sketch, working with acoustic consultants, ecologists and highways engineers, and we meet the parish council early.

If you are looking for wedding venue architects and have a barn or a house you think could work, we can visit before you commit and tell you plainly what is likely to be approved and what it is likely to cost.
