Bramhall Blenkharn Leonard has a vacancy for an experienced qualified architect to join its studio in Yorkshire, UK.
Introduction
Bramhall Blenkharn Leonard Architects is a multi-award winning design-led architectural practice based in the market town of Malton, North Yorkshire. The practice specialises in bespoke residential and commercial projects, and has carved a reputation as one of the leading residential practices in the north of England. The practice has won numerous awards over the years and has recently been awarded the LABC Regional Award for the sensitive conversion of a listed farm complex in the North York Moors National Park.
Job description
Due to an expanding workload the practice is looking to recruit a talented and driven project-running architect, with three plus years’ proven experience in the high-end residential sector. You will ideally have worked on individually designed contemporary, new build and heritage projects, and with significant project experience throughout all RIBA work stages (in particular stages 4 to 5).
You will be working on a variety of project scales from medium-sized domestic extensions to large country houses and estates.

Requirements (all candidates)
To be considered for interview, you will:
- have strong conceptual, design, presentation and graphic skills
- have good technical knowledge and detailing skills, construction documentation and contract administration
- have a strong working knowledge of UK Building Regulations
- have experience of running projects on site
- have excellent spoken and written English and be eligible to work in the UK
- have a UK driving license and car
- have the ability to work within a team
- be confident and comfortable working with clients, consultants, and contractors
- be well-organised, self-motivated, proactive and able to work under pressure to deadlines
- be an innovative thinker with a flexible approach to work
We are exclusively an Apple Mac and ArchiCAD based practice, so the ideal candidate will be proficient, or have had some experience with ArchiCAD, or be very willing to learn a new software and workflow. Experience with Adobe Suite is also expected.
Please note that due to the bespoke nature of our work and team size, it is essential that we develop close and collaborative working practices, therefore, this is a full-time, office-based position with no applications for remote working accepted.
