Contemporary timber frame house in Strensall Conservation Area

Rowan House is a comporary new build timber frame house set within Strensall Conservation Area. Located on a former garden plot to the neighbouring house, the new design features a confident street elevation with clererstorey glazing to the first floor set behind a traditional brick garden wall.

The building has been designed with extremely high levels of thermal performance while also reducing the carbon footprint of the materials embodied in the build. Natural sheep wool insulation and woodfibre are used throughout as the primary insulation material.

An innovate timber frame using I-joists to create deep insulated panels has resulted in an A-rated energy efficient build with very low running costs.
