Rural diversification at Scampston Hall with new estate café

For historic estates, adapting to modern visitor expectations is key to long-term success. Our project at Scampston Hall demonstrates a thoughtful approach to rural diversification by seamlessly integrating a new cafe within the historic grounds.

Located in North Yorkshire, Scampston Hall is a beautiful example of a regency country house. The estate owners recognised the need to enhance the visitor experience and create a new revenue stream. We designed a new cafe to serve as a visitors' centre, providing essential facilities and a welcoming space for guests to relax and refresh.

This project was more than just building a cafe; it was about creating a functional, attractive space that respects the historic character of the estate.
